Job Description

Lead business operations that include: development and execution of approved strategies, plans, and policies designed to achieve growth, revenue, and profit targets. 

 

Responsibilities

  1. Analyze economic, market, and Company business trends to:
  • Develop and execute strategies that will achieve Company targets and objectives
  • Routinely report on actual operating performance versus budget and forecast objectives
  1. Spearhead business development and growth programs including Shops network growth
  2. Ensure availability of products in shops by keeping accurate data from efficient inventory management
  3. Maintain quality customer experiences in Shops operations through the improvement and application of great customer service operating procedures
  4. Ensure that all funds, physical assets, and Company property are properly safeguarded and administered; that capital expenditure plans are approved in accordance with established authority, budgetary parameters, and Company policies.
  5. Develop and maintain professional business relationships with business partners to maximize performance. Oversee compliance and appropriate corrective action.
  6. Provide leadership to the senior team across all functions.  Develop and maintain an appropriate organizational structure, employee motivation, and management succession and progression.
  7. Ask the hard questions and hold the senior team accountable for their KPI’s
  8. Routinely report to the C.E.O on status and forecasts for the business.
  9. Remain abreast of competitor activity and implement appropriate marketing strategies and plans.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 3 years leadership experience in multi-unit business operations
  2. Demonstrated business acumen on sales, business development, finance and inventory management, and accountability in a small to medium size organization
  3. In short and long-term planning; development and implementation of strategies to achieve approved revenue, profit, and growth targets
  4. With modern human resource management and the importance of company values, culture and people capability in driving results
  5. In the startup phase (0 – 4 years) of a multi-unit retail business or similar business
  6. Analytical, data-driven, and results-oriented with proven decision-making ability balanced by sound commercial judgment.  Action should be decisive but not reactionary or impulsive
  7. Ability to establish and retain clear priorities and apply the appropriate degree of urgency whilst maintaining a controlled environment and approach to management
  8. Willingness to get “out and about” and thus balance time spent in the office environment with the need to develop a good appreciation and understanding of the retail operation
  9. High level of detailed administrative, organizational, and communication ability
  10. The high energy level and work ethic, capacity to work and withstand long hours
